Technique, briefly
- Hold the brush at 45 degrees to the gum line, not flat against the tooth
- Short strokes or small circles, not a scrubbing sweep
- Light pressure. If the bristles splay, you are pushing too hard
- Do the inner surfaces of the lower front teeth, the most skipped spot in the mouth
- Spit, do not rinse. Rinsing washes away the fluoride you just applied
